The MCTA requests your continued financial support in 2025 by having you renew your MCTA annual membership. If you are a new resident, the MCTA invites you to join your neighbors in supporting this critical county-wide initiative. This movement has truly evolved into a county-wide taxpayer effort and has brought together the lakes and surrounding communities unprecedentedly.
As you may know, the issues we face as a community extend beyond the continued increase in taxation and the most recent 47% increase for a new high school and related infrastructure. The past two years of extensive research and analysis have uncovered many county governance and treasurer department irregularities. These irregularities and the resulting negative impact on the Menominee County taxpayers have been structured into two lawsuits that have been entered in the state and federal court. While they are not directed to the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin, they do affect Menominee County, the Town of Menominee, and The Menominee Indian School District. These lawsuits include multiple claims for these irregularities along with statute and regulation violations.
Your MCTA team has continued to make additional progress over the past year and has secured several vital accomplishments that will advance our efforts in achieving our collective goal.
The MCTA is a volunteer organization that relies on support from Menominee County taxpayers, and we Menominee County Taxpayers need your continued support! The MCTA team continues to spend significant time managing all aspects of the various initiatives now underway, including most of the groundwork for the multiple legal actions and inquiries. This has significantly reduced expenses; however, we still need your continuous help and financial contributions to move forward!
